SOUND WEAVING

- Exploring Entanglement between Body, Machine, and Void Space

“Musical ideas are prisoners, more than one might believe, of musical devices.” –Schaeffer (1977, pp. 16-17)

This project utilizes the body as a real-time instrument to perform granular synthesis. By moving hands through space, the tension between body and machine intertwines emptiness with the sound cloud. This virtual interface frees the temporal structure in sound, redefines the physical form of the instrument, and transcends the ontology of reality.
