Huichun Yang is a Taiwanese sound artist, improviser, and composer based in Providence, Rhode Island. Her work explores the relationship between breath, body, and environment through spatial audio and electroacoustic performance. Working with materials such as balloons, mouth harps, Arbrassons, DIY electronics, and computer-based sound programming, she creates sonic environments that engage threshold, embodied gesture, and relational listening. She holds an MFA in Digital Media from the Rhode Island School of Design and has presented her work at the International Computer Music Conference, SOUND/IMAGE Festival, Non-Event, and Residual Noise. Huichun’s practice draws from her experience as an Asian woman navigating in-between spaces of technology and nature, code and material, sound and land.
